<a href="http://www.mssnglnks.org/" target="_blank"> www.mssnglnks.org</a> Named for the protective cocoon that covers a caterpillar during its transformation to a butterfly, Chrysalis encompasses Mssng Lnks fundamental mission to provide minority and inner-city junior high and high school students with the <strong>vocal training, tools and support network they need should they decide to pursue a career in classical vocal performance or musical theatre</strong>. Like the pupa that goes through physical changes as it matures from larva to adult, individuals go through their own stages of development in their quest to becoming a professional singer — and support is vital to their ability to thrive and ultimately succeed. <br /> Pursuing a career in voice, like any educational pursuit, can be negatively impacted by a variety of external stresses, including financial worries, pressures from friends and family, time constraints and logistical challenges. If students lack direct access to advisors who can offer guidance, answer questions and help manage seemingly insurmountable obstacles, they will likely become frustrated, discouraged and even consider changing career paths. By providing a collaborative web of support, safety and stability, Chrysalis gives individual vocalists the training, encouragement and inspiration they need to face these challenges head on. <br />
